The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max is a robot vacuum with mopping function for homes where an ordinary robot gets stuck. Climbing legs lift it over thresholds up to 6 cm. The space under the couch or bed is no problem either.
Rugs and carpets get the full suction power, so pet hair disappears too. On hard floors, a roller mop does the mopping and is continuously supplied with clean water along the way. Three cameras make sure cables and socks are neatly avoided.
After every run, the station cleans everything again. You just top up the water now and then and replace the dust bag once every two months.

A tour around your home
From the kitchen to under the couch, and then back to the dock.
The step into the kitchen
Where other robots turn back, climbing legs lift it over steps up to 6 cm. You won't need any ramps.
Under the couch
The LiDAR tower retracts so it can get under furniture from 9.3 cm. That's exactly where most of the dust is.
The rug in the living room
On carpet it switches to full power and the roller mop rises 10 mm. Your rug stays dry.
Back to the station
There the roller mop is washed at 85 °C and dried at 50 °C. The dust goes into a bag that lasts up to 75 days.

Is the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max a good fit for your situation?
A great choice if:
- your home has thresholds or steps up to 6 cm
- you have a mix of hard floors and carpet
- there's a dog or cat around that sheds hair
- you want to leave as much of the maintenance as possible to the dock
Less suitable if:
- you mainly have high-pile carpet with a pile height above 8 mm. It won't go over that while mopping
- you only want to vacuum and don't need a mopping function
Can't decide between the Robot Vacuum 6, 6 Pro and 6 Max? Here you can see them side by side.

Climbs where other robots turn back
When the 6 Max approaches a threshold, it lifts itself up using climbing legs in the chassis. That way it clears steps up to 6 cm high. You don't need any ramps.
It works the other way around too: the LiDAR tower retracts, so it fits under furniture with a clearance from 9.3 cm. The most dust lies under the bed and the couch. Now it reaches there.
You'll notice this especially in older homes, where there's often a hefty threshold between the kitchen, hallway and bathroom. Where most robots stop at around 2 cm, the 6 Max drives right through and finishes the entire floor in a single run.

Right into the corners and along the baseboards
Corners are the weak spot of every round robot. The 6 Max extends its side brush as soon as it approaches a corner or edge. A separate corner mop pad cleans right up to the baseboard.
So there's no strip of dust left along the wall, and you don't have to go back over it with a cloth. It works just as well along furniture legs and in doorways.
Hair and crumbs often collect along the edges, exactly where a round robot falls short. Because the 6 Max extends outward, it picks up that strip in the same pass. There's no need for an extra round along the walls.
How does the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max compare?
Three models, one series. The 6 Max climbs the highest, has the strongest suction and the biggest battery.

The station handles the maintenance
After every job, the station washes the roller mop with 85 °C water and dries it at 50 °C. This keeps the roller mop fresh and prevents musty odors. The dust bin is automatically emptied into a dust bag that lasts up to 75 days.
Every now and then, you top up the clean water tank, empty the dirty water tank, and replace the bag once every two months. The station takes care of the rest.
That hot washing and drying is no luxury. A mop that sits wet in the station quickly starts to smell musty. Since the station dries it after every job, you won't have that problem, and you don't have to take the roller out yourself.

Mopping with running water
No static cloth, but a roller mop that's continuously rinsed while mopping. Sixteen nozzles keep the roller wet with clean water. The dirty water is drained away right away.
That way you don't carry dirt from the kitchen into the bedroom. You'll notice the difference most with dried-on stains: the roller keeps spinning and scrubbing until the spot is clean.
When it passes a baseboard, the roller slides out a bit so the edge along the wall is cleaned too. On carpet, the roller lifts 10 mm so your rug stays dry.

Suction power that handles carpet
With 35,000 Pa, the 6 Max pulls even deeply embedded dust and pet hair out of carpet. When it moves from a hard floor onto a rug, it recognizes the change and switches to full power. You turn on that carpet boost once in the app, and after that it happens automatically.
On carpet it lifts the mop 10 mm, so your rug stays dry. The 6,400 mAh battery lasts for an entire floor of your home. If it does run out, it recharges at the station and then finishes its route.
Have a dog or cat? Hair tends to get stuck between the fibers in rugs and carpeting. That's exactly where the extra suction power makes the difference.
Here's how to set up the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max
Unpack it, set it down, and open the app. That's all it takes to get started. Go through these steps once, and the robot gets to know your home and then works on its own from there.
Step 1: place the station in a fixed spot
Step 1: place the station in a fixed spot
Choose a spot against a straight wall, with open space in front of and beside the dock. This makes it easy for the robot to drive in and out. Connect the dock, fill the clean water tank and let the robot charge fully before its first run.
Step 2: connect the robot to the Xiaomi Home app
Step 2: connect the robot to the Xiaomi Home app
Download the Xiaomi Home app, log in and add the robot. You do all the settings below in that app. Afterwards, you can also control the robot with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
Step 3: let it do a mapping run
Step 3: let it do a mapping run
Open the interior doors and tidy up any loose cables and clothing. Then let the robot explore the whole house once. After that, the map appears in the app and you can name rooms, draw no-go zones, and set up cleaning schedules.
Step 4: turn on AI recognition
Step 4: turn on AI recognition
This feature is turned off by default. You'll find it in the app under the robot's settings, in AI recognition. Without it, the robot won't detect obstacles and stains, and misses a big part of what it can do.
Step 5: turn on the carpet boost
Step 5: turn on the carpet boost
This is only possible after the first cleaning session, once the robot has detected your carpets. In the app, tap on the carpet in the map and turn on the carpet boost under the carpet preferences. After that, it will automatically switch to full power on carpets.
Step 6: set high-pile carpet
Step 6: set high-pile carpet
Do you have carpet with a pile height above 8 mm? For that carpet, choose avoidance during mopping. That way, the wet mop won't go over it. Regular rugs are no problem: there he lifts the mop 10 mm.
Step 7: live monitoring (optional)
Step 7: live monitoring (optional)
The camera function is also off by default. Turn it on, and you can watch a live feed inside your home through the app. Handy when you're out and about and want to check whether there's anything on the floor before starting a cleaning run.

Sees what's on the floor
Three cameras on the front work together to recognize over 320 types of obstacles and spots. It'll dodge a charging cable or a sock instead of swallowing it up. Spots a stain? It gives that area an extra scrub. That saves you from jammed brushes and routes that stop halfway through.
Through the app you can also watch live along with the camera, for example when you're out and about and want to see what's lying around in the living room. Please note: AI recognition is off by default. Turn it on in the app after setup.
Recognition consists of two parts: around 280 types of objects, from cables and slippers to furniture, and 47 types of spots, both wet and dry. Together that's the over 320 that Xiaomi mentions.
