The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro is a robot vacuum with a mopping function that first checks what's on the floor. Three cameras recognize 47 types of stains, from milk and coffee to cat litter. If there's a wet mess that would smear, the robot drives around it and you get a notification in the app.
With 30,000 Pa of suction power, you'll also lift crumbs and pet hair out of carpet. The mopping is done with a roller mop that gets fresh water through 16 water outlets, while a scraper immediately removes the dirty water. The 6 Pro takes thresholds up to 4 cm in two steps, and it fits under furniture from 9.3 cm.
After every job, the station washes the roller mop at 85 °C and dries it with air at 50 °C. That keeps the roller fresh and prevents any musty smell. The dust ends up in a bag that lasts up to 75 days. Every now and then, you just top up the fresh water.

A tour around your home
From the living room to under the couch, and then back to the dock.
Room by room
With the floor plan in the app, the robot knows where every room is. It saves the kitchen and bathroom, where the floor is dirtiest, for last.
Under the couch
The LiDAR tower retracts, so the robot can get under furniture from 9.3 cm. That's exactly where most of the dust is.
The rug in the living room
In the app, you choose how the robot handles rugs: tackle the carpet first, boost suction power, or skip them while mopping.
Back to the station
There the roller mop is washed at 85 °C and dried at 50 °C. The dust goes into a bag that lasts up to 75 days.

Is the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro right for your situation?
A great choice if:
- there's a dog or cat around, with fur, kibble or cat litter on the floor
- you have a mix of hard floors and carpet
- there are thresholds up to 3 cm, or a double step of 4 cm combined
- you want to leave the mop washing and dustbin emptying to the station
Less suitable if:
- you have thresholds higher than 4 cm. In that case the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max with climbing legs up to 6 cm is the better choice
- you only want to vacuum and don't need a mopping function
Torn between the Robot Vacuum 6, 6 Pro and 6 Max? Here you can see them side by side.

Tells the difference between dust and a stain
A splash of milk or a tipped-over litter box is a trap for most robot vacuums. They drive straight through it and smear everything across the floor. The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro first checks what's there and adapts its approach accordingly.
The cameras recognize 47 types of spills, split into three groups. Dry residue like crumbs or kibble gets extra suction power. For a wet spill, such as milk or coffee, it starts with a single mopping pass. After that, the robot heads back to wash the roller mop and mops the spot once more with a clean roller.
If it's a mix of wet and solid, the robot drives around it instead. You get a notification in the Xiaomi Home app, so you know where to step in yourself. That way the mess doesn't spread further into the house.

Goes under the couch and over the threshold
The LiDAR tower on top retracts as soon as the robot wants to pass underneath something. That lets the 6 Pro fit under furniture with a clearance from 9.3 cm. The most dust often sits under the bed and the sofa, and now it reaches there too.
At a threshold, the swivel wheel at the front lifts up. This way the robot gets over steps up to 3 cm. In vacuum mode it can even handle a double step of 4 cm in total, like 3 cm followed by 1 cm. Handy for the transition to the bathroom or the balcony.
For most homes that's enough; many robots already stop around 2 cm. If you have higher thresholds, then the 6 Max with its climbing legs up to 6 cm is the better choice.
How does the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro compare?
Three models, one series. The 6 Pro has the same cameras, roller mop and station as the 6 Max. The Max climbs higher, suctions stronger and has a bigger battery.

The station handles the maintenance
After each run, the station washes the roller mop with water heated up to 85 °C. Then it blows 50 °C air through it, so the roller stays fresh and no musty smell develops. You pick the water temperature from four settings, and the drying time from three.
The dust bin is also emptied automatically, into a dust bag that seals itself. That bag lasts up to 75 days. The 4-liter clean water tank keeps mopping going for days on end.
What's left for you to do: top up the clean water now and then, empty the dirty water tank, and swap in a new dust bag about once every two months. The station takes care of the rest.

Mopping with running water
Instead of a static cloth, the 6 Pro uses a roller mop that moves across the floor with constant pressure. Through 16 water outlets, the roller gets a continuous supply of clean water. A built-in scraper immediately removes the dirty water again.
So you mop the entire route with a clean roller, and dirt from the kitchen doesn't end up in the bedroom. The difference is especially noticeable with half-dried stains, like coffee or ketchup.
Along baseboards and in corners, the roller mop extends outward on an arm. The side brush does the same, sweeping dust out of the corner toward the robot. That way no strip of dirt is left behind along the wall.

Suction power that handles carpet
With 30,000 Pa, the 6 Pro suctions twice as hard as its predecessor, the Robot Vacuum 5 Pro with 20,000 Pa. Sand and crumbs disappear from the cracks in your floor, and tracked-in dust from your carpet.
Pet hairs won't get wrapped around the brushes. The main brush has two blades that cut hairs right away, and the side brush is shaped so hairs slide right off. So you won't have to reach for the scissors.
You set how the robot handles carpet in the app. There are six carpet preferences, from doing the rugs first and extra suction power on carpet to skipping carpet entirely while mopping.
How to set up the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro
Unpack it, set it down and open the app. A few handy features are switched off by default. Go through these steps once, and the robot will learn your home and know what matters to you.
Step 1: place the station in a fixed spot
Step 1: place the station in a fixed spot
Choose a spot against a straight wall, with open space in front of and beside the dock. This makes it easy for the robot to drive in and out. Connect the dock, fill the clean water tank and let the robot charge fully before its first run.
Step 2: connect the robot to the Xiaomi Home app
Step 2: connect the robot to the Xiaomi Home app
Download the Xiaomi Home app, log in and add the robot. You do all the settings below in that app. Afterwards, you can also control the robot with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
Step 3: let it do a mapping run
Step 3: let it do a mapping run
Open the interior doors and tidy up any loose cables and clothes. Then let the robot explore the whole house once. After that, the map appears in the app and you can name rooms, draw no-go zones and set up schedules.
Step 4: turn on AI recognition
Step 4: turn on AI recognition
This feature is turned off by default. You'll find it in the app under the robot's settings. Without AI recognition, the 6 Pro can't detect obstacles and stains, and misses out on its smartest feature.
Step 5: choose how thorough for each room
Step 5: choose how thorough for each room
Tap a room on the map and set how the robot vacuums and mops there. For a big clean-up, go with deep cleaning. If it's running while you're home, quiet mode is more pleasant.
Step 6: set your carpet preference
Step 6: set your carpet preference
After the first run, your rugs appear in the map. There you can choose from the six carpet preferences, for example extra suction power on carpet or skipping the carpet while mopping. For high-pile carpet, avoiding it during mopping is the safest choice.
Step 7: live monitoring (optional)
Step 7: live monitoring (optional)
The camera function is also turned off by default. Switch it on and you can watch a live view inside your home through the app. Handy for checking whether anything's lying on the floor before you start a cleaning session, or just to keep an eye on your pet.

Recognizes what's on the floor
Three cameras on the front recognize over 280 types of obstacles, down to an earbud cable just 3 mm thick. A sock or slipper gets avoided instead of swallowed up. That way the robot finishes its route and you don't have to tidy the floor first.
The 6 Pro also recognizes 80 types of furniture and uses that to divide your home into rooms. The kitchen and bathroom, where the floor is dirtiest, are cleaned last. That way no dirt gets carried into the rest of the house.
Through the Xiaomi Home app you can watch the camera live, for example to see what your cat is up to. That feature is off by default, just like the AI recognition. The video system has been tested for cybersecurity by TÜV SÜD.
