Xiaomi Mijia Body Composition Scale S400 Pro

The complete glass plate of 300 by 300 mm works as an electrode, thanks to a conductive coating in the tempered glass. So you don't have to place your feet exactly on metal pads; it measures just as well everywhere on the plate, up to shoe size 48. The weighing range runs from 0.1 to 150 kg, and the rounded glass edges and silicone feet keep it firmly and safely in place in the bathroom.

The scale stores up to 36 profiles and recognizes who's standing on it based on the measurement itself, so everyone's data automatically ends up with the right person. Want to weigh your baby? First weigh yourself, then weigh yourself with your child in your arms; the difference is the little one's weight. Also handy: you can weigh items up to 10 kg with 0.05 kg accuracy, from a package that needs to be shipped out to carry-on luggage that has to stay under the limit.

You don't need to grab your phone to weigh yourself: the S400 Pro stores up to 160 measurements locally and syncs them via Bluetooth to the Xiaomi Home app as soon as it's nearby again. There you'll find all your values neatly together and can see the longer trends across weeks and months. The scale runs on four AAA batteries and keeps going for up to 150 days with three weigh-ins a day, so you won't have to worry about it for months.

For the best results, weigh yourself barefoot, at a fixed time of day and on a hard, flat floor. Turn on the heart rate measurement in the Xiaomi Home app if you want to use it, because it's off by default. If your readings suddenly look off, just wipe the soles of your feet and the glass plate with a damp cloth. And if two household members differ by less than 2 kg, assign the measurement to the right person in the app so everyone's overview stays accurate.
